Ras Laffan Industrial City – Qatar

A diversified use of natural gas is emerging, adding a new dimension
to the traditional use of gas as a heating or power generation fuel by
converting gas into, amongst other products, high quality diesel
transportation fuel virtually free of sulphur. Shell recently launched
a project to build and operate a world scale Gas to Liquids (GTL)
facility (`The Pearl GTL project’) at Ras Loffan Industrial City near
Doha, under an agreement with the State of Qatar. Qatar, with one of
the largest reservoirs of gas, has the stated aim to be the GTL
capital of the world.

The Pearl project will firmly establish Shell as a leader in the GTL
industry and it could do the same for you. As a Shift Superviser, you
will lead skilled teams and manage the interfaces between technical
disciplines - helping ensure a smooth transition from the
pre-operational phase through commissioning of the plant and finally
to steady operation of the facility.

You’ll be a practical, hands-on team leader with extensive experience
in a gas/ chemical plant, a refinery environment or power generation
plant. Specific experience within a utility environment will be an
advantage. Fluent in English and accustomed to working with a
multi-cultural team, you should have a Higher National Diploma in
Chemical Engineering or a related discipline, or have gained
equivalent skills and competence through working experience.
